GeekRunner is a platform that connects customers with vetted freelancers for one-on-one support with their devices. We are committed to protecting your privacy and keeping your personal data safe. This Policy explains how we collect, use, share, store and protect personal data under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
2. Data controller and contact
Geekrunner Co FZCO (License No: 66532), registered at DSO-IFZA, IFZA Properties, Dubai Silicon Oasis, is the data controller. Contact our Data Protection Lead at compliance@geekrunner.co.
3. Personal data we collect
For customers, this can include your name, contact details, booking and device information, payment tokens, service history, communications, and uploaded photos or videos. For Experts, this can include contact details, CV, work history, references, vetting information, ratings, availability, and payment details. We may also collect technical data such as IP address, device type, browser, pages viewed, and analytics.
4. How we use data
We use personal data to enable bookings and payments, match customers with Experts, provide support, improve the platform, detect fraud, vet Experts, meet legal obligations, and send marketing communications where you have consented. We do not sell or rent personal data for third-party marketing.
5. Sharing and transfers
Data may be shared with the matched Expert, Stripe, service providers, regulators, law enforcement, insurers, courts, or prospective buyers in a merger. International transfers use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
6. Retention and your rights
We retain data only as long as necessary or legally required, then delete or anonymise it. Subject to certain conditions, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to processing. Contact compliance@geekrunner.co or complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
